In addition to featuring artists whose work I admire from afar, I'm excited to post exciting work by some of the talented people in my life. This is the first of what I hope to be many entries that showcase some of the best emerging artists in Los Angeles.
Jin Lee is a textile designer who was born in Seoul, trained at Central St. Martins in London, worked in Paris and now lives in LA. This first selection of work was born from time spent in yet another city, when Jin was studying in Florence. She drew inspiration from Italian craft and the Florentine scenery.
The following images are from Jin's final Central St. Martin's collection. The body of work was inspired by early 20th century ceramicist William De Morgan. Jin designed the garments as well as the prints, which were all done by hand.
